Broad Ripple - A Bar-Hopper's Paradise

Alley Cat Lounge - 6267 Carrollton Ave - 257-4036
Back in the alley that is next to Old Pro's Table.
Major smoky dive, cheapest drinks and best juke box in Broadripple, a cool place you can go to at the end of the night or when you don't feel like taking a bath. Crowd mainly consists of friendly long-haired tatooed dead heads, but all kinds of people will drift through.
4 pool tables, darts, and a foosball table in the various bedrooms.

Average Joe's Sports Pub - 814 Broad Ripple Ave - 253-5844
Nice bar in middle of Broadripple next door to Landsharks. 2 long rooms: one has tables, a large bar, the other has pool tables. They will hang any of your personal sports paraphernalia on the wall if you bring it in, seemed mostly racing to me. Good place to go and watch an IRL race. Food. $$

Broadripple Brew Pub -
English Pub. They brew their own tasty ale and they have a menu. Tiny bar.

Brewpub

The Casba - 6319 Guilford Ave - 257-3138
Two bars and live music

All Stars Sports and Daiquiri Bar - 6253 Guilford Ave - 475-1588
This place used to be Edens, and then J.Y.'s. Its controversial in Broad Ripple for attracting "dangerous" blacks from south of Broadripple with its hip-hop. Expect the controversy to continue. In its current form, they have pizza, tv's for sports and a dj and dancefloor - several floors.

Henry Grattan Pub - 745 Broadripple Ave - 257-6030
Nice Irish Pub. I love the decor. Good Irish Stew. $$

Grattan Pub

Jazz Cooker - 925 E. Westfield Blvd - 253-2883
Somewhere I read, "This restaurant/bar serves up Cajun specialties in a classic two-story Victorian-style house with a New Orleans feel. You'll find a wrought-iron fence around the garden dining area, a picture window up front and a strolling saxophonist to add to the French Quarter atmosphere." They often have late evening entertainment.

The Jazz Kitchen - 5377 N. College Ave - 573-4900
This place is a little south of the main drag, corner of 54th and College, but well worth a visit. This popular laid-back Jazz club has a great feel, fantastic food, service AND Live music 6 nights a week! They have a Salsa night too. $$

J.C. Bistro - 838 Broadripple Ave - 255-8755
Live music. The stage backdrop is Broadripple Ave.

Landsharks - 810 Broadripple Ave - 254-8157
Popular dance club for young 20's age group. They say they are a Beach Club concept.

Decor ok, 2 level, $$
Pool tables, video games, darts, Big-screen TV. Window/wall facing street opens up during the warm months. Little fireplace pit. Mainly a 20's preppie hangout.

Old Pros Table

The Patio - 6308 Guilford Ave - 253-0799
Lots of live rock music, usually every night. Battle of the Bands on Wednesdays. Cover ranges $5-10.

Peppers - 6283 N. College Ave - 257-6277
Large, Patio, Good Menu, Good drinks, Good decor, $$$
One of my favorites, Peppers is like 2 bars in one. Upstairs they have live music (rock, pop, blues, jazz, misc) and the restaurant. The stages backdrop is College Ave. Also a large salt-water aquarium. Usually the crowd upstairs is mid-20's to 40's. Downstairs is a dark dance club. Young 20's hang out down there. Also outside, they have a firepit that keeps you warm in the winter as well as tables and chairs for outside drinking/dining. Next door to The Vogue and the Broadripple Comedy Club.

Rock Lobster - 820 Broadripple Ave
Similar and next door to Landsharks, maybe a bit hipper. Also different is the outdoor patio in the rear with a small bar.

Seven - 6253 Guilford Ave
This unique club is owned by Pacer's NBA star Jermaine O'Neal. It opened New Years 2006 in a 3-story club previously known as Allstars. This bar is Vegas "ultra-lounge" with drapes and beds, dancing girls behind veils, neon tables, private tables and bottle service. Girls get in free, guys pay $10 and better not be wearing sweats, tees, hats or tennies. Jeans and boots are ok.
Union Jacks - 924 Broadripple Ave - 257-4343
Pizza restaurant and bar.

Union Jacks

The Vogue - 6259 N. College Ave - 259-7029, concert-line 255-2828
Two level, antique theater, pretty cool but could use a renovation, $$
A Rock 'n Roll dance club able to book national bands. This place has been around a long time. You get DJ music most of the time, but they do get some good bands in frequently. They have a little snack bar upstairs with pizza and coffee. Unfortunately, there is only a dozen good seats for watching the stage as the whole central area has had all chairs removed (its a bar and a dance floor) but if you don't mind standing up to watch the band, then its fine.
The Vogue The Vogue

The Wellington - about 6267 Guilford Ave
$$$, Tiny little pub with a few tables, a small bar, a fireplace and two steel-tipped dart boards. Walk thru door to attached little restaurant with their own wine cellar. Owned by Broadripple Brew Pub, they feature their own excellent ales on tap as well as fine imports. Bartenders play what they want on cd player. I really like this place, but it can get too crowded easily.

North-East Side

Ale Emporium N.E. - Corner of 86th and Allisonville in Marsh Grocery shopping center.
Popular pub that I've been enjoying for over a decade and still go back even though I now live on the other side of town. I love the decor and the staff stays pretty constant and the crowd is good. Sports on HDTV. Good Food, Good beer selection, $$, Satellite. Good place to watch the game. The owner, Mark, is a nice guy who is often there. I notice the service improves alot when he's around.
