Briton Gary Paffett was named in December as test driver for McLaren, replacing the team's
long-term Austrian reserve Alexander Wurz.
The 24-year-old Paffett, who won the 2005 German DTM touring car championship for
McLaren's engine partner Mercedes, will share testing duties with Pedro de la Rosa in 2006..
Paffett has been linked to the team since 1999, when he won the McLaren Autosport young
driver of the year award and earned a one-off test in 2000. He has tested on several
occasions for McLaren since then while also winning the German F3 title in 2002.
