Rundown: After winning the pole for both the Sprint Cup series and the
Xfinity series races at the Brickyard,  Kyle Busch was unstoppable as he
ran away with both races.

Quote: “I knew when we got the checkered, I just didn’t want to come in
quite yet,” said Stewart, a two-time Brickyard 400 winner. “I wanted to run
one more lap, and Jeff was around us before that last green run, and I told
my spotter to go get his spotter and say ‘after this thing’s over we need to
go a lap around here together, because most likely is the last time we’ll
both get to do that.’ I couldn’t think of a better guy to share that with than
Jeff.”

Seen The Last of them Hoosiers?  After retiring last year, Jeff Gordon
returned to race in the Brickyard 400, subbing for Dale Earnhardt Jr. who
was missing a few races dealing with a concussion.   Gordon finished in
13th.  Tony Stewart is retiring this year and finished in 11th place in his
final Brickyard 400.
Kasey Kahne
Hendricks Motorsports
The race was red-flagged on Lap 12 due to
thunderstorms.  The race resumed two hours later.
Pole sitter Kyle Busch led through the first and second
stages, followed by fellow Toyota driver Martin Truex,
Jr. On lap 111, They got together and hit the wall!  The
race had 2 more red flags and 14 yellows!  The most
of any Brickyard 400 ever!

There was a wreck on every restart.  With 2 laps to

go, Jimmie Johnson loses it in T3 while going 3-wide
with Kahne and Keselowski!. The race goes into
overtime as the sun is falling out of the sky, then
another big wreck.  Finally as we near 9pm, Kahne
grabs the lead from Keselowski before the inevitable
crash, and he passed the Overtime Line before the
track through the yellow, and won for the first time
since 2014.

Quote: "And this race had, you know, some key
moments that I think we’ll probably play back for the
next five or 10 years."- Brad Keselowski

Team Penske
They changed the date from the middle of summer to the first
of September, hoping for cooler temps and a more pleasant
experience for the fans.

It rained from Friday to Sunday and all practice and qualifying
was cancelled as well as the all day concert planned for Friday.

Both Nascar races (Xfinity 250 and the Cup 400) were ran on
Monday.  This was the 25th Brickyard 400 and the first time
the race had ever been postponed to the next day.

A late caution bunched up the pack. With two laps to go,
Brad Keselowski bumped his way by Denny Hamlin for the
lead and won the race.

This was Team Penske's first Brickyard 400 victory.
Kevin Harvick
Stewart-Haas Racing
Rundown: The weather this year cooperated and was not
too hot or sunny.  Kevin Harvick won from pole, leading the
most laps, despite having to go through 9 restarts in this
caution-filled race.

Quote:  “We’ve given so many away just because of
circumstances here, and the way that the caution flag fell today
actually worked in our favor. It gave us control of the race, and
we were able to keep control of the race and not make any
mistakes."

Ending Streak: Jimmie Johnson had a fast car and scored
points in the first two stages, but was involved in an 8-car
accident  that ended his race and his hopes for another
Cup Playoff berth of which he'd been a part since  the format
was introduced in 2004.
This was Harvick's 3rd win of the year
and his 2nd Brickyard 400 win.

without spectators. The race was delayed
an hour due to lightning and finished near
dusk.

Kevin Harvick dueled with Denny Hamlin
through the last half of the race and were the

race and sent him into the Turn 1 wall,
Harvick went on to win his 3rd Brickyard 400.
