Dan Wheldon and Team Andretti Green won the 2005 IRL Championship as well as the Indy 500 Wheldon won in a Honda-powered Dallara sponsored by Klein Tools & Jim Beam. Danica Patrick beat out Patrick Carpentier, Ryan Briscoe, Tomas Enge and Paul Dana for 2005 IRL Rookie Of The Year. She also won Indy 500 Rookie of the Year honors after she finished in 4th. The diminutive racer drives for Team Rahal Letterman Racing. Her car was a Honda-powered Panoz. This rookie's popularity sky rocketed after the Indy 500 and she appeared on many magazine covers and television shows, often overshadowing the other drivers.
