A Pacer will drive the Pace Car.
NBA guard
Tyrese Haliburton, who plays basketball for
the Indiana Pacers, will drive the Corvette at the start of
the race.  When the basketball team was established in
1967, it was named after the Indy 500.
The 2024 500 Festival cars consist of 35 Chevy Silverados and 9 Corvettes.

The Silverado 1500 RST trucks has a Radiant Red Tintcoat exterior and a Jet Black leather
interior, 6.2-liter 420 HP small block V-8, 22-inch high-gloss Black-painted aluminum wheels,
10-speed automatic transmission and dual active exhaust with sport mode,
The new 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 3LZ will pace the 108th Indianapolis 500.
It is the first electrified and quickest production Corvette ever, going from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds  
and running the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds.
The 6.2L V-8 is complemented by an electric motor that channels an additional 160 horsepower
and 125 lb-ft of torque through the front wheels for 655 combined horsepower.
The Pace Car driver which will lead the field of 33 to the green flag to start
the Indy 500 is
Ken Griffey Jr.

Griffey played 22 years as an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB).
He was the first overall pick in the 1987 draft and a 13-time All-Star.

Griffey hit 630 home runs in his career.

The 2025 Indy 500 Festival Event vehicles are the Chevy Silverado and
Corvette.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST 4WD Crew Cab is powered by a
6.2-liter V-8 and boasts 420-horsepower and a 10-speed automatic
transmission.  They have a Summit White Tintcoat exterior, Jet Black
leather interior, 22-inch high-gloss Black-painted aluminum wheels and
custom Indianapolis 500 graphics.  39 were produced.

The 12 Corvette festival cars are white with a green and gold graphics
package and black wheels.
Michael Strahan is the
honorary Pace Car driver
for the 109th Indianapolis
500.  He is a Pro Football
Hall of Fame member.
The 2025 Pace Car is the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 coupe.  

The Pace Car is equipped with a 5.5L twin-turbo V8, carbon fiber wheels and
the ZR1 aero package.

With 1,064-horsepower, the car is capable of 0-6 in 2.3 seconds, 9.6-second
quarter mile at 150mph, and a top speed of 233 mph.

It is the fastest Corvette ever and the most powerful car ever made by an
American car manufacturer.

The 500 Pace Car is painted in Arctic White, while the racing stripes and Indy
500 logo are emerald green trimmed in gold.  The interior is trimmed in Jet
Black accents.

The Z-06 is capable of 233 mph, the highest top speed of any car ever made in
America by an auto manufacturer.  It is also capable of zero to 60 mph in 2.3
seconds and the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds at 150 mph, making it the quickest
Corvette ever.

The Carbon Aero package, including dive planes on the front bumper,
underbody aero strakes and the rear wing, creates more than 1,200 pounds of
downforce at top speeds.

Though similar in appearance to the festival cars, the pace car has a hood
scoop and a big rear wing.

The new and incredible Corvette ZR1X is the Pace Car for the 2026 Indy 500!

Curt Cignetti has been named honorary Pace Car driver for the 110th Indianapolis 500.
Cignetti, head coach of the Indiana University Football team, led them to an epic undefeated
National Championship season this year,
There are two 500 Festival Event Vehicles - 37 Silverados and 12 Corvette E-rays.

The 2026
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST 4WD Crew Cab is powered by a 5.3-liter V-8 packing 355
horsepower, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Details: Summit White exterior, Jet Black leather interior, 20-inch high-gloss Black-painted aluminum
wheels and custom Indianapolis 500 graphics. Custom Indianapolis 500 graphics celebrate America’s
250th anniversary with flag-inspired stripes and hidden Easter eggs. Made in Fort Wayne Indianan.

The
2026 Chevy Corvette E-Ray hybrid coupes pairs a 6.2L V8 LT2 with an electric motor driving
the front axle, delivering 655 combined horsepower and all-wheel drive. Carbon-fiber wheels and
Stealth trim distinguish the E-Ray from standard production models.
Details: Arctic White exterior and Santorini Blue interior.  They are equipped with the three
stanchion rear spoiler and visible carbon fiber wheels with the red stripe. The graphics show the Indy
500 logo on the doors and the cars are wearing a modified version of the Stars & Steel limited
edition graphics. It wears Blue Stars with Red Stripes and the nod to America’s 250th Anniversary is
shown both on the front hood and rear spoiler end plates. A CORVETTE banner appears on the top
of the rear spoiler.
