A 41-year-old tradition - rain or shine, the bands will play...
More than 250,000 spectators will line the route to applaud the
Indy 500 drivers, Hollywood celbrities, colorful floats and lively
marching bands.
A ticket to the nation's largest interactive parade includes a
parade bag full of props that correspond to the different units as
they march through the streets of Indianapolis. The 1998 festival
will feature more than 100 units, including elaborate floats,
marching bands, giant balloons and specialty entertainment
groups.
This year's theme is "Creating Magic Moments"
The grand marshal for the 1998 parade is David Wolf, a NASA
astronaut who spent 119 days above the Russian space station,
Mir.
