Racing Schools

Track Attack offers classes at their own half-mile 6-turn road course at 2525 N. Shadeland
Avenue in Indianapolis. They have deals for corporations and can travel to speedways outside
Indiana as well. See their website for pictures of their race cars or call (317) 890-1519 or
1-888-RACETRX for more info. They also rent out the track to karters who have their own
equipment.

No Limit Racing Adventure offers racing classes at IRP also. They feature Nascar style
vehicles for the oval as well as a "Lemans-style" car for the roadcourse. They also offer
go-kart instruction for the beginning driver. Their phone is (317) 885-8878.

Richard Petty Driving School offers classes in Nascar style cars at the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway.
Go-Karts

Central Indiana provides some excellent karting opportunities on both European-style indoor
karting courses and some good outdoor courses. You will find they cater to corporate groups,
private parties and individual racing. They all provide helmets, or you can bring your own. You
should give them a call before going in case someone has the track rented out or leagues are
going on. They are generally open around 11a-11p daily. The indoor courses may offer
speedometers and printouts. You must be 18 to drive at these places. (There are other go-kart
places that kids can go in the city, listed further down on this page.)

Fastimes Indoor Karting
Located: 3455 Harper Rd (96th Street and Keystone Avenue, next to Woodland Bowl)
Since: May 2001
Speed: 40+ mph.
Phone: (317)566-0066
Price: $18 for 8 minute session
Course Length: 900 feet
Notes: 9 h.p. Belguim karts. Course covers two floors. These karts are the safest I've seen,
with roll bars, seat belts and large all-round bumpers. The track is wide and fun. Lap times vary
from 20-29 seconds generally. Good traction, which means, to me, less skill required, but
probably less frustrating for the beginner, however, whether from smacking the wall or just
trying to hold on to these fast sticky karts, the driver may take more of a pounding than at the
other indoor tracks, hence more endurance required. (Update: We've since lost the other two
indoor tracks that I've been to that had slick tracks.)
