The International Race of Champions (IROC) was an
American auto racing series that pitted top drivers from
different series together in identically prepared cars.
The series represented were mostly made up of Nascar
& IndyCar drivers, with a few from Formula 1 and IMSA.
The series ran from 1974-1980 and from 1984-2006
It was held at the Indy Speedway from 1998-2003.

My accomplishment in the IROC series is the crown jewel of my career outside of being inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which supersedes everything. But the most outstanding thing I ever did in a race car was done in those IROC cars. For some reason, I don't know why, that was the big deal. That was just magic for me.
